I sent a pic of this to a friend and she was like, OMG
blog this!! and well I don’t blog here often, but I still haven’t mustered up a new web-presence...
So
you wanna make a wand/sword/lightsaber? It’s just 3/4” PVC pipe and pipe insulation, a
heavy coating of duct tape and electrical tape on the handle. My husband
gets credit for this. But my big kiddo asked me to make a sword too,
and I needed mine to be suitable for the fairy that I am, so I went to
JOANN’s, discovered they were going out of business, chose from the last
two bolts of fabric they had (of which miraculously was yellow fleece) and
found this sea-foam looking curly yarn. Next day, I sawed the pipe to
length, traced it on the fabric with a star on the top, so that the
fabric would cover the whole pipe, and sewed it together. I stuffed the
star, slipped some foam over it and taped it up. All before pickup while
watching a toddler, thank you very much. That evening I strung in the
yarn (cuz I taped it before and it did not hold up to the playground)
and voila!
Wanna fight?
